We hold obedience training classes each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7:30pm till 8:30pm. Each course lasts six weeks. Our aim is to help owners with very little or no experience of training to achieve basic obedience with their dogs in a relaxed and friendly environment. We only use positive reinforcement methods and try to improve owners’ confidence and knowledge during the course. Classes purposely are kept small so that each owner gets the one to one attention that’s needed if they have an unruly puppy.

Our trainer has over 20 years experience of handling and training dogs. She has been passed by the Kennel Club to award at Championship show level and has competed in obedience at class A.

We cover the following activities in the course :

• heel on lead
• directional turns
• sit on command
• down on command
• short sit and down stay
• puppy recall
• puppy socialisation

On completion of the course each handler and dog receives a certificate of achievement and has then the opportunity to take the Kennel Club Good Citizen award.
